Uhh...well, information technology's honest! There is no real story, but a description of what pirates exercise, search for ships to plunder, attack them, steal their valuables, maroon the coiffure at ocean or force them to join the pirate crew, and run and hide from the police force. All is told with the most adorable illustrations. The terminal page asks the reader if they are "brave" enough to live on a pirate ship!! Why non merely ask if they are brave enough for a life of crime and running from the constabulary?! I got this for my iii year former north Uhh...well, it'south honest! Pretty good pirate book for young children since it has relatively few words per page and offers adept vocabulary. It is one of the few books that actually goes into what pirates actually do, which is attack other ships, fight their crew, take their stuff, and leave them marooned or force them to bring together the crew. It's all done very low-cal but it does put a new light on the romance of pirating, doesn't it? This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click hither. Unfortunately my little male child loves this and will observe if we become rid of it, which I would otherwise definitely exist inclined to do! The illustrations are charming but the story definitely doesn't gloss over what pirates actually do (plundering, fighting, threatening the crews of merchant ships with expiry unless they become pirates...) which would be fine if the book actually pointed out that these were wrong things to practice! Overall it glamourises the less savoury aspects of pirate life in a style that Unfortunately my piddling boy loves this and will notice if we become rid of it, which I would otherwise definitely be inclined to practise! That said the 2 year erstwhile loves it ...

A fine pirate volume in a sea of pirate books. The illustrations are cute. The text can be hard to read on as night pages. Recommended for preK kids.

Beautiful lilliputian moving picture book. My son did question why at that place was not a girl on the pirate ship. I can't get into more detail without giving the story away. For lilliputian ones who aren't certain what it means to be a pirate, this is a smashing G-rated story to introduce them to what happens during pirates mean solar day. It does accept a boxing, but it is i page long and not graphic at all and when the pirates celebrate their victory they "beverage hot spicy drinks and sing and dance till dawn." There is lots of room for interaction - the kids tin can mimic steering the transport, pulling in the sails, swordplay at ocean and the Blast! of a cannon! This book is great for kindergarten age students. There is really great vocabulary in here as well equally wonderful illustrations. Also, the way the words are written on the page is very visual and great for kids.

3* art
ane* story

Sad, just a little as well glossy on what pirates really do. Search for treasure? Um, it'south non that I want blood and gore - merely, don't go at that place if you're not going to tell the truth. Spicy drinks = rum? Not for me.

This story is about using your imagination to be a pirate, probably not the best option for a bed time story.

Meh - 2*

I didn't really savor it. The children weren't fully engaged in the story. There was no plot to the story....
